Special Election

A Special Election will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 to fill the recently vacated Gainesville District Board of Supervisors position. Only voters in the Gainesville District are eligible to vote in this Special Election.

Date:  Tuesday, February 21, 2023

Hours:  6:00 am – 7:00 pm

Locations:  Voters should go to their assigned polling place.  Find your assigned polling place here.

A Sample Ballot can be viewed here. The current candidates for the office are Kerensa G. Sumers and Robert "Bob" Weir.

Ways to Vote

Early Voting will begin on Tuesday, January 17 and
will run through Saturday, February 18.

Weekdays: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday

Weekends: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
- on the Following Dates ONLY -

  • Saturday, February 4

  • Saturday, February 11

  • Sunday, February 12

  • Saturday, February 18

Curbside Voting: Available for seniors and voters with disabilities at all in-person voting locations in designated parking spaces. Available for both Early Voting and on Election Day.
Drive-thru voting is not available.

Apply online or download the application to email, mail, fax, or drop off your application.

Deadline to Apply:
Friday, February 10, 2023 at 5:00 pm

Return Your Ballot:

In person -  By February 21, 2023 at 7:00 pm to any polling place or the Office of Elections (or any early voting location during the early voting period)

By mail -  Postmarked by Tuesday, February 21 and received by Friday, February 24 at 12:00 pm

Registration

Register online or download a voter registration application to mail to our office. 

Deadline to Register Online:
Tuesday, February 7, 2023 by midnight

*Mailed paper applications must be postmarked by February 7.

Same-Day Registration

Voters are now able to register and vote a provisional ballot on the same day if the voter registration deadline has passed. Voters should ask to complete a Same-Day Registration when they check in at an Early Voting site or Polling Place. 

Under-Age Voters

17-year olds who will be 18 by November 7, 2023, the date of the General Election, are eligible to vote in this special election.

Check Your Status

Redistricting is complete and your precinct may have changed from past years. Polling place and voting district information has been mailed to all voters. If you missed it, there are two ways you can look up your information:
